There are a few historical milestone which you can find in the Dutch Block area:
Stadhuys: This building was integrated the 12 months 1650 as the central of Dutch administration and residence of the Nederlander Governor and their officials. The structure truly shows Dutch architecture in that time and is thought to the oldest Dutch building in the East. Right now, it is known as “Museum of the former and Ethnography” which shows traditional wedding clothes and artifacts of historical Melaka.
Christ Church: Built in the entire year 1753 by the Dutch and it is the oldest functioning Simple church in Malaysia. Inside the Christ Church you can find jointless wood ceiling beam(each cut from just one tree trunk), a brass Bible inscribed with the first verse of St John in Nederlander, a tombstones written in the Portuguese language and a tiled artwork imitation of ” The Previous Supper”. In addition, it still includes the original hand made pews (church long bench seat) and window dated back again 200 years old. Afterwards, during British occupation again in 1795, the chapel was consecrated as an Anglican Church.
